Justice Wales Network

The Justice Wales Network was established in 2008 in order to promote bilingualism within the justice sector in Wales and to ensure that the aims and principles of the Welsh Language Act 1993 are supported.

Membership is open to any organisation that is invovled in the process of administering justice in Wales, from the Police forces, the Crown Prosecution Service, Courts and Tribunals, the Probation Trust to Witness and Victim Support, the Independent Police Complaints Commission, Skills for Justice and the Criminal Records Bureau.

Our Mission Statement:

To promote bilingualism within the justice sector in Wales by raising staff awareness of the importance of language sensitivity and of facilitating language choice. By working in partnership it will attempt to increase the linguistic capacity of the main agencies within the sector in relation to offering opportunities for staff to learn Welsh and by improving the skills of Welsh speakers.
